Style It Up Tuesday - Scarf Style

One of my favorite things about fall is that it’s the perfect weather for scarves!  Scarves are a great pop of color to any plain-colored shirt.  I have a large scarf collection, but I have three ultimate favorites that I will show below.

This first one has four pieces of fabric sewn together: yellow with red cherries, pink with red cherries and white polka dots, green with tiny white polka dots, and cream with red strawberries.  I love the fact that is scarf has so many different colors, yet it all matches!

This is one of those nifty Infinity scarves.  However, this one is especially unique with the fact that is has two scarves sewn together.  One is black with all different colors of flowers.  The other is really shimmery and has the same color palette.  Since it has so many colors, it can go with many outfits!

Lastly is a fall-ish one.  It has a olive-green base color.  It also has red, burgundy, white, turquoise, yellow and brown on it.  This one is like the first one, where it has many colors, but somehow they all look good together!

Taco Bake Recipe

Fall is here!  Since the weather is starting to get cooler, we always like something warm to eat or drink.  Here is a delicious recipe that’s sure to warm you from head to toe!  It’s like a taco, but a huge one, so you can share it with the whole family.

Ingredients
1 lb. ground beef
1 1⁄4 oz. pkg. taco seasoning mix
3⁄4 c. water
6 6-inch flour tortillas
2 c. shredded Mexican blend or Cheddar cheese, divided
1 to 2 c. salsa

Directions
1. Set oven to 350 degrees.
2.  Brown the beef in a skillet over medium heat; drain.  Stir in taco seasoning and water; simmer for 5 minutes.
3.  Cover the bottom of a lightly greased 9” x 9” baking pan with 3 tortillas.  Top with one cup of cheese and all of beef mixture.
4.  Layer with remaining tortillas, salsa, and 1⁄2 cup cheese.  Bake, uncovered, for 15 minutes.
5.  Top with remaining cheese.  Bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes, until bubbly and cheese is melted.
6.  Enjoy!  :)

Style It Up Tuesday: Jewlery

As some of you may know, Maddie did a series back in April called Style It Up Tuesday.  I really love the idea and will be continuing that series.

I think jewelry is a very important part of your outfit.  It accessorizes while showing your personality!  Below are some of my favorite pieces of jewelry.

This is a nifty safety pin bracelet my mom made for me.  I love the colors and it looks like I actually bought it at a store!  If you’d like to know how to make a bracelet like this, my sister posted about it here.

Hamburger!  This is one of those fun BFF necklaces.  My friend Emma has a french fries one and my sister has the hotdog one.  This is a fun way to add some humor to your outfit!

I love elephants, so this is the perfect necklace for me.  It’s shiny silver that goes with most any outfit; I wear this necklace a lot!

I’ve had this owl necklace for a long time, yet I still think it’s awesome.  He has so much personality; don’t you think?  :)

I’ve also had this R bracelet for a long time.  It’s so colorful, that it practically goes with any outfit!  I think each of the stones is supposed to bring you something (like happiness, peace, joy, etc.) or something like that, but I’ve never noticed a difference when I wear it.

This red Minnie Mouse watch is adorable!  I love how her hands point to the time!  I also love her hat with a flower sticking out of it!

Now, if you know me, you know I always wear this ring.  It’s the only piece of jewelry I wear literally all the time!

Last, but definitely not least, is this set of bracelets.  There’s a pink, brown, blue, multicolored, turquoise, yellow, and another pink bracelet in this set.  This set is so much fun to wear and adds a great pop of color.

Book Review: The Bravest Princess

The Bravest Princess by E.D. Baker is filled with adventure, mystery, and even a little bit of romance!  This is the third book in a series; however this is one of those books that you don’t really have to read the other books in the series to understand the book.

It starts out with a princess named Annie who lives in the kingdom of Treecrest.  She gets summoned to her friend Snow White’s castle because Snow White’s evil step-mother has escaped her tower.  With evil Marissa on the loose, the king fears that she plans to harm Snow White.  He thinks if she is married, she will have better protection from Marissa.  While traveling to Snow White’s castle, Annie runs into many problems that only a powerful witch could create.
Which of the suitors will Snow White choose?  And who is behind these powerful spells?  You’ll have to read the book to find out!  :)

Fishtail Braids

I just recently learned how to do a fishtail braid.  This hairstyle is seriously so easy, fun, and usually quick to do.  I love to just do this hairstyle really quick and I think it makes me look older and like I actually know how to do something with my hair.  :)

I learned how to fishtail by watching this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTrE-lrStGA
Once you have mastered the basic fishtail braid, here is a fun spin on the fishtail: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P04qOQs1DxE&list=UU2LgZ_4GzSFQS-3a87_Jc6w
